How to measure
This measurement is different from the one you might know from classic size charts, but it’s the most accurate way to find your perfect fit.
- Stand comfortably with your feet hip-width apart
- Locate your sacrum - the flat bone just above your buttocks
- Place the start of the tape measure there
- Bring it forward on a diagonal line, ending under your bump
- Check the illustration to make sure your tape follows the same path
Which number to use
Use your current hip measurement and compare it with the table above to find your size. The pregnancy months are just a guide. Every body grows differently, and that's completely normal.
Focus on the numbers, not the labels.
If your number falls between two sizes, choose the smaller one. Hugup fabric has a bit of stretch and adapts with you.

Fit checks when your Hugup arrives
When you try it on:
- The fabric should sit smoothly without pulling or gaps
- Straps and bust should feel close but never tight
- The hem should stay in place when you move - no rolling or slipping
How do I put on Hugup?
You can start with our video on how to put on and adjust Hugup. It shows you exactly how to zip, wrap and adjust it from start to finish.
If you prefer to read, here is how to do it.
- Step into it or pull it over your head
- Zip the top
- Wrap the belt from the back to the front
- Adjust the side buckles until everything feels comfortable.
If something doesn’t feel right, send us a message at support@hugup.com and we’ll help you fix it.
How do I know if the belly support is working?
It should feel like a gentle lift from underneath. Light and supportive, never tight or bulky.
You’ll know it’s right when:
- You feel soft support as you stand or walk
- Your lower back gets a bit of relief
- Moving feels easier and free, not restricted
If it feels bulky or holds you back, it’s worth adjusting or trying a different size.
How far should the top reach?
The hem should sit just below your buttocks. If you want to see how it looks when it’s right, watch this short video.
What if I can’t zip it up?
Use the small loop at the bottom and the tab at the top to guide the zipper. This makes it easier to close, even with a bump in the way. You can also watch how to zip up your Hugup easily for a quick demo.
What if putting on the belt is tricky?
Don’t worry, it’s normal at first.
Watch our short video on how to put on the belt to see how to make it easier.
