Start by taking measurements. Place the tape measure from the sacrum just above the buttocks, diagonally under the belly, to the front. Then match your number to the chart on our Size guide. You’ll also find pregnancy months as a rough guide, but your current measurement matters most.

If you're between sizes, go for the smaller one. The fabric is soft and stretchy, and adapts as you grow.

When Hugup fits well, it feels like gentle support. Not too tight, not too loose.

Here’s what to look for:

• The fabric lies flat, with no bunching, gaps or deep folds
• Straps and bust sit close to your body without digging in
• The lower band stays in place when you move, no rolling or slipping

It should feel like a gentle lift from underneath. Light and supportive, never tight or bulky.

You’ll know it’s right when:

• You feel soft support as you stand or walk
• Your lower back gets a bit of relief
• Moving feels easier and free, not restricted

If it feels bulky or holds you back, it’s worth adjusting or trying a different size.

It can happen, especially later in pregnancy. Here’s how to make it more comfortable.

• Unfasten the side buckles to release the pressure
• If it still feels tight, stand up and loosen the belt a little - under the belly and around the hips

The support should move with you, not press against you.

That means the straps need a little adjustment. Slide any extra strap from the back towards the shoulder tunnels. It will release the tension and take the weight off.

It usually means the support needs a quick adjustment. Remember, the order matters: hips, belly, shoulders, buckles.

• Shift some of the strap from under the belly towards your lower back
• Loosen the belt a little if it feels too tight

If comfort is balanced, you only need a small tweak. Adjust the buckle levels so the symbols match. Then check that the back seam is centred over your tailbone and that the straps haven’t moved during previous adjustments.

Take short breaks so your body stays comfortable.

• Unfasten the belt for about 15 minutes every hour
• Avoid wearing it for long periods while sitting or lying down
